With the official launch of the YouTube Store today, the anime series previously offered in January during the trial have been expanded to cover shows from Sentai Filmworks via The Anime Network as well as shows from Funimation. Related posts: Funimation has announced that it has acquired the license to stream Fuji TV’s noitamina (Animation spelled backwards) late night animation block, with House of Five Leaves currently available and the next program in the block in The Tatami Block beginning its simulcast on April 22nd. Kadokawa has posted the official trailer for the forthcoming Highschool of the Dead anime adaptation after debuting at last week’s Tokyo Anime Fair. The adaptation of Daisuke Sato and Shouji Sato’s horror action manga will be animated by Madhouse and directed by Araki Tetsuo of Death Note fame. Following up, Funimation has also published a list of newly uploaded episodes across major video streaming portals. Funimation has posted the first four subtitled episodes of the fourth season of the Initial D slice of life street drift racing series ahead of its DVD release on May 11th. The trailer for the forthcoming Noitamina series Yojohan Shinwa Taikei from the director of Mind Game has been posted online The very surrealist anime (in the Masaka Yuasa tradition), is adapted from the novel of the same name, which deals with a senior in college looking back on his time in school. Bandai’s music production and distribution arm Lantis has posted the Yasashii Bo-kyaku music video from Minori Chihara’s theme song for The Vanishment of Haruhi Suzumiya film on YouTube. The service is only available in the US at this time and requires a Google account with Google Checkout to purchase content. Funimation has added another round of anime episodes across its own video portal, YouTube and Hulu along with dedicated portals such as One Piece Official. The first longform trailer for the forthcoming Fist of the North Star Musou action/strategy game has surfaced on YouTube. |
